Grocery Shopping with Kids

Going shopping with the kids can be a big adventure. Remember the days when you could just run into the store, grab some groceries, go to the express lane and be done. Adding three kids to the picture means adding three times the time and patience. Finding little tricks to prevent meltdowns and chaos can help you stay sane in the store. Here are some tips on how to stay sane when taking the kids to the grocery store.

1. Don't go to the store when hungry especially when the kids are hungry.
2. Get the kids involved. Have them pick out the fruits, cereal or juice.
3. Give them the coupons and have them hunt down the items. Of course, keep your eye on them.
4. Go to the store when you are not short on time. I went to the grocery store on a saturday night. We had all eaten, rested, and the temperature was nice. Although the kids got a little crazy, I had more patience with them since I wasn't pressured to get to our next appointment.

Let me know if you have any other ideas on staying sane with the kids at the grocery store.
